My
Story

Working primarily in wheel-thrown ceramics, Tash Hart explores the relationship between material, function, and process. Her practice is informed by an intuitive approach to form and a deep respect for craft, influenced by the legacy of her grandmother, a potter whose work surrounded her throughout childhood. Though self-taught, her development has been shaped by hands-on experience—an early apprenticeship and years of independent practice.

Function is central to her design philosophy. She believes that well-considered functionality brings an aesthetic quality beyond visual perception—creating a quiet sense of balance and ease in use. She aims to create objects that invite touch and quiet interaction, where material and form work together to enhance the user’s experience. Often incorporating wood ash glazes—a material she has witnessed in its full cycle from living tree to fire to ash—she brings a direct connection to nature into her work.
